THE GUS NECTAR STORY

 

As kids, my father who is from Germany, worked for a company on the Chicago River, south of the Chicago Loop. Sometimes when he worked late and the drive was a little more than an hour, he would eat at various restaurants and thought he could make up a mixture of dipping oil himself and improve on the taste and quality. He was not impressed with the flat taste they had.

 

Over the past 30 years, and after my mom and he retired to Mountain Home, AR he always tried to improve the flavor. In fact, our recipe changed in the spring to add more seasonings in three areas.

 

When my husband and I would visit them, we would ALWAYS have some of dad's seasoned extra virgin olive oil - dipping raw veggies or bread before or with meals and on salads, sandwiches and pastas. We also found it was great to fry fish or meat and put on potatoes or rice. We would take home a gallon each time and run out before long.

 

I had this idea that the public might enjoy it too and my dad being humble, wondered if people might like it and I entered our first show.

 

We sold out twice!!

 

We appreciate any referrals to our healthy product as word of mouth is the best customer and as a thank you, people that referr get $5 off any product with the name and phone number of the person that referred them.
